Already Fluent in Gaelic?

For teachers who are already fluent in Gaelic, the University of Aberdeen and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig have developed an online programme called Streap.

Streap is a 12-month CLPL programme that provides an opportunity for teachers to enhance their professional practice in the teaching of a subject or stage through the medium of Gaelic. It develops participants’ Gaelic language skills, competence and confidence in classroom practice and critical reflection in a Gaelic-medium context.

When you’ve completed ‘Streap’, you’ll gain a PGT Certificate within the PGT Advanced Professional Development Programme from the University of Aberdeen. Places on this course are fully funded by the Scottish Government.

The course commences at the start of the school year, recruitment takes place in the summer term of the previous school year.
