Gaelic as a subject

The UHI offer students the opportunity to study PGDE Secondary for Gaelic. This is a face-to-face course, with placements in schools offering Gàidhlig and Gaelic as a subject. This qualification allows teachers to teach Gàidhlig  and Gaelic in Secondary schools in Scotland.

Subjects through the medium of Gaelic

The UHI also offers students the opportunity to undertake a PGDE in certain subjects through the medium of Gaelic. For more information on this course, please click here.

All applications should be made through the UCAS teacher training website. The application process usually opens in November and as places on the PGDE Primary programmes are limited, the sooner you apply the better your chance of being considered.
